Social Contribution Committee’s Education Representative Presents Northern Thailand Japanese

On September 5, the JCC 2026 Scholarship Award Ceremony, organized by the Northern Thailand Japanese Language and Japanese Studies University Consortium, was held at Naresuan University in Phitsanulok Province. Mr. FUKUOKA Junji, Chair of the Education Subcommittee of the Social Contribution Committee (from Mitsui & Co (Thailand) Ltd.), attended the ceremony.

Since 2009, the JCC had supported Japanese language and Japanese studies programs conducted by the consortium’s nine member universities. On this occasion, scholarships were awarded to 26 students in recognition of outstanding students majoring in Japanese language and Japanese studies as well as to support short-term study programs in Japan.

Following the award ceremony, a networking session was held between JCC representatives and the scholarship recipients. The participants conversed in Japanese about what inspired them to begin studying Japanese and their dreams for the future, providing the scholarship recipients with a valuable opportunity to put into practice the Japanese language skills they have developed through their daily studies.
